How to check QC photos

What to look at before you ship a piece home.

Short answer

QC photos are photos of your actual piece in the agent's warehouse. Check the logo (place, size, font), the stitching, the tags, the color and the measurements against the size chart. If it looks right, it is a GL (green light): ship it. If something is wrong, it is an RL (red light): ask the agent to exchange or return it. Compare with other buyers' photos in the QC photo finder.

Clothes: what to check

  1. Logo and print: right place, right size, clean edges, no cracks.
  2. Stitching: straight lines, no loose threads, no holes.
  3. Tags and labels: neat text, right font, sewn in straight.
  4. Color: same as the listing. Warehouse light can change it a little.
  5. Size: ask for measurements (length, chest) and compare them with the size chart.

Shoes: what to check

  1. Shape: side view and toe box like the retail pair.
  2. Logo and swoosh: right place and size, no glue stains.
  3. Stitching and materials: even stitching, leather without marks.
  4. Sole and box label: clean sole, label with the right size.

After an RL

  1. Ask the agent for an exchange (a new piece from the seller) or a return (money back).
  2. Do it fast: sellers accept returns only for a few days.
  3. Small flaws (a loose thread, a tiny stain) are often not worth an RL.
